DogFluff Home Boarding Policy
1 Relationship and Responsibilities
1.1 The dog boarder will perform all reasonable duties as specified on the boarder registration form with a responsible, professional and caring attitude.
1.2 The dog boarder will abide by all regulations and compliance of the dog boarding industry.
1.3 The dog boarder will provide updates to the client on the dog’s progress during their stay.
1.4 The dog boarder will notify the client of any incidents that have occurred which may impact the health and well-being of the dog(s).
1.5 The client must ensure that each dog has a collar and tag. The client must supply leads / harnesses that are in good working order and also a muzzle if required.
1.6 The boarder will provide identity tag with boarders details during the dogs stay
1.7 The dogs own food must be provided and any dietary requirements discussed.
1.8 All dogs must have an up to date vaccine record which must be shown prior to boarding.
1.9 All dogs must be up to date with flea and worm treatments.
2 Liability
2.1 The client shall indemnify the dog boarder in respect of all costs and damages, from any claim, from any person or animal suffering either injury or death caused by the client’s dog.
2.2 The dog boarder shall not be liable for any mishap, of any nature, which may occur to a dog or is caused by a dog, who has unsupervised access to the outdoors.
3 Registration & Medical Conditions
3.1 The client will need to complete a boarder registration form with essential information.
3.2 The client must provide accurate information on any medical conditions, special needs that may affect the duties of the dog boarder.
3.3 Any medication required during the stay must be provided with full instructions on administration.
4 Dog Boarding Payments and Expenses
4.1 The client will pay the dog boarder a rate of £25 per day for the duration of the stay.
4.2 The client must pay a deposit of 50% at the time of booking and the remaining balance must be paid no later than 48 hours before the board begins.
4.3 Pick up and drop off will be discussed and agreed as per individual requirements.
4.4 The client will pay for additional expenses that are vital for the care of the dog(s). These include but are not limited to dog food, litter or cleaning supplies, transportation, unexpected visits and emergency health care expenses. The dog boarder shall retain and submit receipts as proof of additional expenses.
4.5 Non or late payment of fees or other charges is a breach of this agreement and will lead to termination of this agreement. The dog boarder has no further obligation to the client to provide dog boarding services and reserves the right to offer the place to another client.
5 Cancellation or Termination of Agreement
5.1 Either party can terminate this agreement by giving the other party not less than 48 hours written notice (which may be by email) of termination without incurring penalties or damages. The boarder reserves the right to keep the deposit paid or agree to use it for a future booking. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given then the dog boarder reserves the right to keep the full deposit.
5.2 Should the client’s dog(s) become aggressive or dangerous the dog boarder reserves the right to terminate this agreement and the client or emergency contact will be contacted to arrange removal of the dog(s).
5.3 Any wrongful or misleading information on the boarder registration form may constitute a breach of terms of this agreement and be grounds for instant termination thereof.
5.4 Termination under the circumstances described in 5.2 or 5.3 shall not entitle the client to any refunds nor relief of any outstanding payments due.
6 Emergencies
6.1 In the event of an emergency, the dog boarder shall contact the client at the number(s) provided on the boarder registration form to confirm the client’s choice of action. If the client cannot be reached in a timely manner then the dog boarder is authorised to:
6.1.1 Transport the dog(s) to the listed veterinarian on the boarder registration form.
6.1.2 Request on-site treatment from a veterinarian.
6.1.3 Transport the dog(s) to an emergency clinic if the previous two options are not feasible.
7 Security and Data Protection
7.1 The dog boarder will keep safe and confidential all keys, house access codes, any security and personal information of the client.
7.2 All client property will be returned to the client either at the end of the agreement or when requested by the client.
8 Suitability Assessment
8.1 Due to two small resident dogs, all potential clients will require a suitability assessment prior to booking. This is to assess compatibility and involves a short meet up and walk in the local village, ending back at the residence.
